Brooks Throws No-No for Lions

Starkville’s Nick Brooks tossed a complete-game no-hitter in Wednesday’s baseball nightcap to give the home-standing EMCC Lions a doubleheader split against Mississippi Delta.  With 10 strikeouts and seven walks, the freshman right-hander from Starkville High used 140 pitches to shut out the Trojans 3-0.  Delta claimed the opening game 9-6.  Coach Chris Rose’s EMCC Lions are now 12-14 overall on the year and 2-4 in MACJC North Division play.  EMCC travels to Goodman to take on the Holmes Bulldogs in a Saturday afternoon road doubleheader set to begin at 1 p.m.
