BREAKING: Vardaman Suspect Turns Himself In
VARDAMAN, Miss. (WCBI)- Vardaman Police Chief Kenneth Scott tells WCBI a person has turned himself in for Sunday’s early morning shooting.
Scott says 24-year old Derrick Moore of Vardaman, turned himself in Sunday afternoon, for the alleged drive-by shooting, that took place on Richards Street.
Moore told investigators that he got into a verbal altercation with someone earlier Saturday night, who was staying with the family.
The chief says alcohol was involved and Moore told him he regrets his decision and is remorseful.
The chief says one person was shot in the foot and was treated and released from the hospital.
Moore is being charged with one felony charge of drive-by shooting.
If convicted, this charge carries a maximum of 30 years.
