BREAKING: Man Dies After 8 Hour Standoff With Law Enforcement

BATESVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- A man is dead following an 8 hour standoff with law enforcement.

Grenada police and Mississippi Highway Patrol were dealing with a standoff involving a man who allegedly kidnapped his estranged wife last week.

MHP officials confirmed that the SWAT team was called in by the Grenada Police Department.

Forrest County Sheriff’s Department says Christopher Dulas was the one in the standoff on I-55 and that his wife, Angelica Dulas, is safe in Grenada.

Christopher mortally wounded himself around 8pm.

The interstate was completely shut down in both directions between mile marker 208 and mile 220 from 1 this afternoon until around 9 this evening.

The incident is still under investigation.
