BREAKING: Identity of Person Charged for Shooting at Columbus High Released
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- We now know who police believe to be responsible for the shots fired incident at Columbus High School’s football game, last night.
Devonte Harris of West Point was charged with possession of a firearm on school property following the incident.
Our cameras did catch two people being detained immediately following the incident, Harris was one of them- he was the only one charged.
CPD is assisting in the investigation and the school resource officers are handling the incident report.
When asked about the incident, Superintendent Phillip Hickman tells us that the district is assisting where they can.
The incident started in the parking lot Friday night over an argument and 2 shots were fired into the ground
No one was injured.
