BREAKING: Columbus High Softball Player Killed in Overnight Crash

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- The Columbus High School community is mourning the loss of one of its own today.

16 year-old Taylor Lee Harris was killed in an overnight crash on Highway 82. The teen was traveling eastbound when she her vehicle hit the pillar of the overpass of Highway 45.

Coroner Greg Merchant says Harris was pronounced dead on the scene.

The passenger in the car is said to also be a Columbus High softball player and was airlifted to Tupelo. No word yet on their condition.

The accident happened around 3:45 Sunday morning.
