Booneville Superintendent is Getting Back to Work
BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Almost two months after being critically injured in an automobile accident that claimed the life of on of his colleagues, Booneville Superintendent Randle Downs is getting back to work.
Downs attended his first regularly scheduled school board meeting Tuesday. Though he is not able to go back to his normal schedule, he is steadily making progress in his recuperation.
Downs and two of his colleagues were injured August 22 in a car crash with four other vehicles on Highway 145 that killed Jason McKinney and injured Luke Ledbetter. Ledbetter has returned to work but it will take Downs a little more time until he is back on his normal schedule.
Wheeler High School Principal Todd Swinney continues as acting superintendent.
