Bond Set For Murder Suspect

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Bond is set at $1,000,000 for a 24 year-old Chickasaw County man charged with Murder.

Brandon Rucker made his initial appearance at Lee County Justice Court this morning, October 30, for his bond hearing.

Rucker is charged with the murder of 17 year-old Lorenzo Wright Junior. Verona Police Chief JB Long says Rucker turned himself into authorities Friday evening.

Chief Long says Rucker shot Wright Thursday afternoon, on Clement Street, then fled the scene.

Wright died a short time later at NMMC.

The chief says both men were spotted together earlier in the day at a nearby convenience store and apparently had some sort of argument moments before the shooting.

Chief Long says he is satisfied at the high bond because of the seriousness of the crime.
