Birmingham Airport Reopens after Bomb Threat
BIRMINGHAM, Al. (WCBI) – The Birmingham, Alabama airport is back open after being closed because of a bomb threat.
The airport had to be evacuated for more than two hours Sunday afternoon, while bomb technicians searched the buildings and investigated the threat.
Officials say they didn’t find anything.
Police say a note containing a bomb threat was found in a bathroom at the facility around 4 p.m.
According to the airport website, flights were delayed or diverted during the shutdown.
Officials say the airport has been secured, and things are back to normal.
