Beautiful Wednesday, rain returns late Thursday
COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Nice weather continues through Wednesday, then an unsettled pattern brings multiple rain chances late week.
WEDNESDAY: Fabulous for late November! Full sun with afternoon highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. It gets cold again tonight, but not AS cold as previous nights with lows near freezing.
THURSDAY: The day starts off pleasant enough, but clouds will steadily increase through afternoon. A steady south to southeast breeze will increase as well. Rain should hold off until after sunset, when widespread rain and embedded rumbles will move into the area. We expect a soaking overnight rain with many spots picking up at least half an inch of rain, if not more! We do not expect any severe weather.
FRIDAY: Widespread, heavy rain will be ongoing in the early morning hours but should slowly move out after daybreak. Some partial clearing is expected into the afternoon with dry weather temporarily returning.
WEEKEND: A stalled front and active southwest flow aloft continue to play havoc on the forecast, but we’re starting to get a clearer picture! Said stalled front and another wave of low pressure may bring additional showers and possibly a few storms to areas along/SE of Highway 25 Saturday. By Sunday, everything gets a little nudge from the upper levels…and we should see dry weather return w/highs staying in the 60s.
NEXT WEEK: The first couple days next week look quiet with highs in the lower 60s – a bit above average for early December.
