Bass Limits Increased at Several State Lakes

JACKSON – The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) Fisheries Bureau announced a proposal to change largemouth bass regulations on Arkabutla, Enid, Sardis, and Grenada Lakes, also known as the Flood Control Reservoirs (FCRs), Lake Jeff Davis and Trace State Park. The proposal for the FCRs will increase the daily limit to 10 fish per angler per day.

At Lake Jeff Davis in Prentiss County, the proposed rule will change the protective slot size limit from 16-20 inches to 18-24 inches.  The slot limit is the length range of bass that must be immediately released.  The harvest of one bass over 24 inches will be allowed.

The proposed change at Trace State Park, located near Tupelo, will reduce the daily creel limit to 10 bass per day.
