Baldwyn Police investigate homicide, suspect in custody
BALDWYN, MISS. (WCBI) – Baldwyn police said a deadly shooting was the result of a long running feud between the victim and suspect.
Shawnzell Mcgee, 28 is being held in the Prentiss County Jail.
Investigator Shane Young, with the Baldwyn Police Department, said Mcgee will be charged in connection with the fatal shooting.
It was around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday when police were called to Price Street to investigate reports of gunfire.
Officers found Gary Price, 35, lying in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound.
McGee was taken into custody as a person of interest and authorities were able to get more information from Price and witnesses in the area.
“There were several people in the vicinity, at the point and time we arrived, Gary was still alive, conscious and lucid and indicated who had shot him, which was Shawnzell McGee, 28-years-old, Price Street here in Baldwyn,” said investigator Shane Young.
Investigator Young said Price and McGee knew each other and had a long running feud, but he couldn’t release details of their disagreement.
