Auditions Kickoff at MUW Theatre Fest
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Auditions for the MUW Theatre Fest competition kicked off Thursday night with student performers from around the state.
Over 500 students, teachers, professors and college students will participate in the annual theatre festival this year. The weekend will include work shops, social events, and one-act productions. The festival has been held for almost two decades and students say it’s something they look forward to each year.
“This festival has definitely taught me to step out of comfort zone. I’ve always been a shy person. Being in something like this has helped me to grow as a person and has helped me to meet new people and make tons of new friends. It’s a great experience that I would recommend for anybody,” says Jessalyn Bisesi, Vice President of the Pearl River Central High drama club.
The is the first year that MUW has hosted the theatre festival. The festival will continue until Sunday, January 20th.
