ATV crash claims life of Lowndes County teen

CALEDONIA, Miss. (WCBI) – The investigation into a deadly Lowndes County ATV accident continues.

The accident happened on Border Springs Road on Tuesday afternoon.

13-year-old Connor Taylor and a teenage relative were riding the ATV when the crash occurred near his home.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant told WCBI that Taylor, the driver, was killed.

Taylor was a seventh grader at Caledonia Middle School.

The other teen suffered what is being described as non-life-threatening injuries.

An outpouring of support came from area clergy and other schools.

Lowndes County Schools Superintendent Dr. Sam Allison released the following statement to WCBI:

“This is a sad time on the campus of Caledonia Middle School. We appreciate the help from local ministers and counselors who assisted during this time. There are no words to express the heartache of losing a child. Our hearts are broken. Please join us in keeping this child’s family, classmates, and teachers in your thoughts and prayers.”
