Artesia man accused of sexual battery

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – An Artesia man faces a sexual battery charge following an incident last week.

Earnest James People, 51, was arrested after he was accused of sexually assaulting a child under 14-years-old.

The victim was visiting a family member when the incident happened.

Lowndes County deputies were contacted by the victim’s mother.

People was charged with Sexual Battery.

Bond has not been set.
