UPDATE: Arrest Made in Ripley Shooting
UPDATE: RIPLEY, Miss. (WCBI)- 26 year-old Isidro Mercado has been charged with one count of Murder and one count of Aggravated Assault.
He is currently being held without bond.

RIPLEY, Miss. – According to the Ripley Police Department, Isidro Mercado, 26, was arrested and is predicted to be charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder stemming from a shooting that occurred at 206 Ashwood Drive in Ripley on Wednesday.
A 911 call was received around 6a.m. stating shots had been fired. When RPD arrived, they found Ernesto Chaires, 35, dead at the scene, and Joe Morales, 34, across the street with head trauma and a gunshot wound.
Morales was transported to Memphis in critical condition.
Bond has not yet been set for Mercado. He is set for arraignment on Thursday and is being detained in the Tippah County Jail.
