Video: Armed Robbery Arrest Made In Columbus
COLUMBUS, Miss. (PRESS RELEASE)- On Friday, September 01, 2017 at approximately 1:14 a.m. Columbus Police Department patrol officers responded to the Sprint Mart located at 1313 Hwy 69 S. in reference to an armed robbery. Upon arrival officers made contact with the clerk who advised a black male entered the store with his face covered and wielding a gun demanded money from the cash register.
The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction of travel. Security video showed the suspect was wearing a plaid button up shirt green sleeves and jeans with his head and face covered.
At approximately 5:00 a.m. E-911 received a call about a motor vehicle accident on Pickensville Road on the accident scene patrol officers made contact with 29 year old Delvin Moore of 1011 15th Street South Columbus, MS. Moore was dressed in the same clothing as the robbery suspect and detained. Found in Moore’s possession was the alleged weapon used in the robbery and money taken from the robbery.
Moore is also being charged with the July, 25 2017 robbery of the same store and customer who was in the store during the incident and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Moore is believed to be the same suspect in multiple armed robberies in the city of Columbus over the past year.
Moore’s bond will be set at a later time.
