Amory, Mississippi (WCBI) – Amory voters pour out the idea of liquor and beer sales.
Nearly half of the the city’s voters turned out for the special election.
There were two referendums on the ballot. One called for the sale of beer and light wine and the other called for liquor sales.
1,067 people voted in favor of beer and light wine sales, while 1,126 voted against the measure.
The 1,156 votes in favor of liquor sales weren’t enough because 1,241 against the proposal.
51 affidavit ballots still need to be counted. However, those votes will not be enough to change the outcome of the election.
