Video: Amory Business, Civic Leader Dead

AMORY (WCBI) – Amory Police and  Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley are investigating the Tuesday morning death of prominent Amory citizen Danny Spreitler.

The 55 year old Spreitler was found dead just after 9:00 inside the downtown Amory coffee shop he owns.   A worker at the 1529 Coffee Company made the discovery when he came to work.  Authorities say Spreitler suffered a gunshot wound but Gurley says he will wait on an autopsy before classifying the death  calling it a death investigation at this time.   Spreitler spent much of his career working at the Gilmore Medical Center rising to the C-E-O role. After leaving the hospital Spreitler ran the Gilmore Foundation until  2015.
