American Legion post 82 hosts dedication service of the new veterans memorial park
ACKERMAN Miss, (WCBI)- American Legion Post 82 is recognizing those who fought for our country with a memorial park.
“This event was to honor Veterans’ Day, we wanted to honor them and the little dedication of the park that we have started with the flags, we have a memorial for the ones who gave their life, but this was for the ones who are serving, have served and ones who will serve in the future.”

Jerry Lawson says the recognition means a lot to veterans.
“The number of veterans that we have in this country is decreasing, any recognition they really appreciate because they did sacrifice tremendously.”
The former service members are glad a new generation can see what it means to serve.
“I think it’s also inspirational for the young people that was here today because this is their country tomorrow”.
” I hope they take away how important the military is and see what sacrifices that they made in their lives”?
Choctaw County High School students participated in the ceremony.
