Alcorn judge ordered to accept sanctions against him

JACKSON (WCBI) – The Mississippi Supreme Court said an Alcorn County Justice Court Judge must accept a ruling against him.

Judge Jimmy McGee was sanctioned last year for failing to uphold the duties of his office.

The Commission on Judicial Performance listed 27 cases where McGee heard testimony in civil cases but never issued a ruling.

McGee was also cited for issuing rulings in civil cases without ever hearing testimony from any of the people involved in the cases.

Thursday’s decision calls for McGee to be publicly reprimanded in Alcorn Circuit Court and to pay a $1,683 fine.
