STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI Sports) – The Alabama football team used explosive plays to build a lead against Mississippi State and relied on a shutdown defensive performance from there.
The Crimson Tide (9-1, 6-1 SEC) dominated the Bulldogs (7-3, 3-3 SEC) 31-6 Saturday in front of 62,435 fans, the second-largest crowd in Davis-Wade Stadium history.
Alabama led 21-3 at halftime after scoring three touchdowns in a six-minute span. MSU outgained Bama (393 yards to 379) but failed to capitalize offensively in key moments.
The Bulldogs will play at Arkansas next Saturday. Kick off is scheduled for 6 p.m. It will be televised on ESPN.
The Crimson Tide will host Charleston Southern next Saturday at 3 p.m. on the SEC Network.
