Alabama Unemployment Rate Drops
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WCBI) – Hitting record lows, Alabama’s unemployment rate continues to fall.
According to the governor’s office, the unemployment rate has dropped from 3.8% in September, to 3.6% in October.
A record low for Alabama, that rate is well below the national unemployment rate of 4.1%.
The job market study also shows, Alabama’s leisure and hospitality sector is showing the strongest annual growth.
Shelby County in metro Birmingham has the state’s lowest jobless rate at 2.6% , and Wilcox County in western Alabama is highest at 8.9%.
