Alabama Holiday Sales
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WCBI) – Alabama retailers are expecting a billion dollar payday this holiday shopping season.
The Alabama Retail Association is projecting shoppers will buy more than $11.5 billion 11 in the state over the next two months.
Those figures amount to a 2% increase in spending over last year’s numbers.
While some retailers worry about online purchases, the association says those gifts only account for only 10% of overall sales in the state.
The day after Thanksgiving and December 22nd are traditionally the busiest shopping days of the year.
