Alabama Gets No. 2 Spot In Playoff, Will Face Michigan State In Dallas

IRVING, Tex. (WCBI Sports) – Alabama is officially in the College Football Playoff and is headed to Dallas.

The College Football Playoff committee selects the Crimson Tide as the No. 2 team in the nation, putting Alabama in the Dec. 31 Cotton Bowl in a national semifinal game. The Tide will face No. 3 Michigan State, the Big 10 winner.

No. 1 Clemson will play No. 4 Oklahoma in the other semifinal game. The teams will meet in the Orange Bowl in Miami on Dec. 31.

Alabama (12-1) won the SEC Championship Saturday, defeating then-No. 18 Florida 29-15 in Atlanta.
