Active Tuberculosis case confirmed at Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – A case of active tuberculosis has been confirmed at Ole Miss.

Now health officials and administration are working to see if any others have been affected.

The Mississippi Department of Health plans to test around 500 people for infection.

Individuals will receive prior notice if they’re to be tested.

Remember, exposure to active tuberculosis disease can result in an infection, but an infection has no symptoms and is not contagious.

Only those with active TB will experience symptoms like fever, weight loss, and cough.
