Video: Accused Murderer Facing More Charges In Separate Investigation
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Accused murderer Leonta Gates is facing more felony charges in a separate case.
Around 5:00am on May 15th, officers with the Tupelo Police Department responded to a call of an armed robbery at a Chevron gas station on South Gloster.
The suspect went up to the clerk, displayed a gun, and took an undetermined amount of cash.
He then stole a vehicle from a customer in the parking lot.
No injuries were reported in the robbery and the stolen car was later recovered.
Gates was identified as the robbery suspect through a joint
investigation between Tupelo Police Department and Lee County Sheriff’s Department.
Tupelo Police Department has charged Gates with two counts of armed robbery and one count of possession of a weapon by a felon.
Gates is also facing multiple Lee County charges, including capital murder for the shooting death of cab driver Charlie Williams.
