For many in Aberdeen Thanksgiving is celebrated not only with family but the whole community.
For the past 4 years, The Men and Mothers of Vision have been hosting this event to show their love for the people in their hometown.
“We are one big happy city so it’s all in giving back to the community. It’s good to see everyone want to pitch in and help out.”
It takes a lot of work from volunteers and businesses, like Food Giant, who provided much of the food for this year’s event.
Mayor Charles Scott was one of the many volunteers. He said events like these add to the feeling of community in Aberdeen.
“Giving back and having a chance to talk with each other and be in communion with each other is an important thing.”
Overall, Rhonda Moore hopes to bring her community together, especially during the holiday season.
“I hope it brings unity to our city. Letting everyone know that everyone can come together as one.”
This is a busy season for the M-O-V.
Their next project is a blanket drive that gets underway in December.
