Aberdeen Man Arrested for Vulnerable Adult Exploitation
MONROE COUNTY, Miss (WCBI) – An Aberdeen resident has been arrested following indictment for felony exploitation of a vulnerable person, announced Attorney General Jim Hood today.
Darrell Randle, 43, of Aberdeen, was arrested at his home Wednesday by investigators with the Attorney General’s Office, Vulnerable Adults Unit and booked into the Monroe County jail. The arrest followed Randle’s recent indictment by the Monroe County Grand Jury on two counts felony exploitation of a vulnerable person. Randle is related to the alleged victim.
The defendant is accused in the indictment of unauthorized actions involving the alleged victim’s social security checks and bank accounts. If convicted, Randle faces up to 20 years behind bars (10 years on each count). As with all cases, the charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
The case is being investigated by Russell Frazier and will be prosecuted by Assistant Attorney General Stanley Alexander of the Attorney General’s Public Integrity Division.
