LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- A Louisville organization is working to make the community a better place.
Between memorials, mentoring, and working with other community groups, Trojan4Life organization members hope to make theirs and surrounding communities a better place.
Through their efforts, they work to preserve the legacy of the past to encourage the generations of the future.
Louisville community organization Trojan4Life members collaborate with other organizations to pour into the community’s youth.
Organization president Billy Metts said they aim to brighten their community with projects promoting progress.
“We want to be more vibrant in our community by doing some things that will impact our community in a positive way,” Metts said. “Our concept is to partner with existing groups so that we can come together and do greater things.”
This weekend, they dedicated a memorial at Eiland Middle School, formerly Louisville Colored School, to honor those who paved the way for future generations.
They hope to preserve their legacy to inspire future generations.
“It is our intention as an organization to continue to pour into the future generations so they can be the best they can be. And we feel it is important that they have the best that can be offered to them,” Metts said.
For their work in the community, Louisville mayor Will Hill announced the city would be naming a road Trojan Way after the organization.
