Search Is On For Man Accused Of Beating Girlfriend

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Authorities in two states are looking for a man investigators say severely beat his girlfriend in Lowndes County.

Gary Scott Peeks, 49, is wanted for Aggravated Assault after deputies say a fight with his girlfriend escalated.

Major Billy Wood with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called out to Blalock Road last night, March 5, around 9:30.

Major Wood says the victim was able to run out the back door and call 911.

Her injuries were so severe, she passed out in the woods. Thankfully deputies were able to find her.

Peeks is a resident in Lamar County, Alabama which is why deputies think he may be in the area.

The victim underwent surgery today due to her injuries.

No word on her condition.

The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation.
