Amory Man Faces Firearm Possession Charge

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI)- An Amory man is behind bars after police were called to an apartment complex regarding shots fired.

The incident happened last week according to police.

Gary Jernighan, 29, was arrested last Wednesday and charged with possession of a weapon by a felon.

Police made contact with Jernighan when responding to that shots fired call. He was arrested without incident.

Jernighan is in the Monroe County Detention Center.

His bond was set at $3,000.

He’s being held for MDOC for a parole violation.
