WINONA, Miss. (WCBI) — A burglary by some teenagers forces an assistant principal out a job.

Sources tell WCBI that Winona High School Assistant Principal Lee Harlow has been relieved of his duties because he kept a gun in his desk at school. Schools Superintendent Dr. Randle Poss said he couldn’t comment. Police Chief Johnny Hargrove would not disclose information over the phone.

But sources tell WCBI the three teens broke into the high school twice during the Thanksgiving break. The second time, they took a laptop and other items. When they were caught, police recovered the laptop and a gun the teens said they took from Harlow’s desk.

No charges have been filed against Harlow but he no longer is employed by the district and the incident is being reported to the state Department of Education.
