Severe Storms Again This Weekend

FRIDAY: Look for a cloudy start to the day with some patchy fog.  By the afternoon, sunshine comes back and temperatures warm into the 70s.  Look for variable winds 5-10 mph.

SATURDAY: The day starts dry and mild.  Temperatures climb into the upper 70s and low 80s.  By the afternoon, a few pop-up storms can be expected, though better chances for storms holds off until the evening into the overnight hours.  We’re anticipating a batch of storms to our west to move in.  A few strong storms can’t be ruled out capable of damaging winds and large hail, but the tornado threat looks lower on Saturday.  Saturday Night, lows fall into the lower 60s.

SATURDAY: Marginal (1/5) Risk for severe storms. A few stronger storms are expected west of the Mississippi State line.

SUNDAY: More rain and storms are expected, but it won’t be a washout.  We think that we’ll see some complexes/clusters of storms capable of strong to severe storms in the area.  Uncertainty still exists, but it seems that large hail and damaging winds would remain the biggest threats.  A few tornadoes can’t be ruled out.  Look for highs in the 80s again with a mix of sun and clouds.

SUNDAY: A slight (2/5) risk for severe storms exists across the entire WCBI viewing area. Scattered severe storms with all modes of severe weather remain possible.

MONDAY:  Some rain and storms could hang on around but most of the activity should shift to our east by the afternoon as the cold front pushes through.  We can’t rule out a few stronger storms again until the front pushes through.  Temperatures dip back into the 70s.

TUESDAY-WEDNESDAY:  Fair weather settles back in. Seasonably warm highs in the upper 70s to around 80 can be expected again.

THURSDAY: Another storm system passes to our north.  We think there’s a low-end chance for a few showers and thunderstorms, but moisture may be lacking which would keep it from being a washout.  We’ll monitor.
