Starkville Man Allegedly Hits Police Officer

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A Starkville man appears in court after allegedly hitting a police officer.

Elija Jones was arrested yesterday, February 15, around 8:15 p.m. following a disturbance call on South Montgomery Street.

Police say, during the arrest, Jones reportedly struck an officer.

Fortunately the officer required no treatment.

Jones is charged with Disorderly Conduct and Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer.

Bond is set at $5,594.25.
