Starkville Police and Fire Departments running for a cause

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The Starkville police and fire departments are helping to raise awareness for Special Olympics.

A dozen officers along with several firefighters participated in a torch run throughout Starkville Tuesday morning.

Along the route, they got cheers and encouragement from students at three local elementary schools.

A bus carrying Special Olympic athletes also followed the runners.

The officers and firemen participate in the run every year.
