Bond Denied For Murder Suspect
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Bond is denied for the man accused in a deadly Columbus motel shooting.
UPDATE: Alleged Motel 6 shooter indicted on Murder charge
Johnathan Lee Majors the second of Columbus made his first court appearance this afternoon.
He arrested yesterday inside and abandon house that investigators believe he was sleeping inside for some time.
CPD, Lowndes County deputies, Narcotics Task Force Agents and U.S. Marshals made the arrest.
Majors is charged with Murder and being held in the Lowndes County jail.
The shooting happened in the early morning hours of December 22nd outside of Motel 6 on Highway 45.
27 year-old Michael Garth of Starkville was found by officers with a gunshot wound.
Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says Garth died at the scene.
