Wintry Mix For The Weekend; Even Colder For 2018

TONIGHT: We will be even cooler as temperatures drop into the low 20s. Clear skies will prevail as well.

FRIDAY: Winds will continue to die down, so it won’t feel as cold for Friday. Highs will also be a touch warmer in the mid 40s and plenty of sunshine.

SATURDAY & SUNDAY: Highs on Saturday will top out in the upper 40s and close to 50 degrees for most. The sunshine will also remain. However, models are suggesting that we could see some form of wintry mix/ice event overnight Saturday night and into the day on Sunday. I expect that we will be starved for moisture, which means that very little precipitation will fall and even so, surface temperatures likely will be too warm for any significant accumulation. Once temperatures fall Saturday evening, we likely won’t warm too much until Monday Morning.

NEXT WEEK: 2018 will be off to a very cold start. Highs on Monday will be in the low 30s and some spots may not make it out of the 20s. We will slowly warm through the week, making it into the upper 30s by Wednesday. Overnight lows will remain in the low to mid teens throughout the week. Once Monday rolls around, we will also remain clear and dry with high pressure settling over the region.
