Lowndes County Narcotics Arrests

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) – On Thursday December 14th Agents with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Task Force attempted to stop a Honda Accord near the intersection of WaterWorks Road and Byrnes Circle in Columbus.

The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and attempted to elude the agents driving at a high rate of speed around Byrnes Circle.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway striking a truck in a yard on Byrnes Circle.

Agents then placed the driver, Timothy Wilson, in custody.

A search of the vehicle yielded approximately 40 grams of cocaine.

Timothy Ross Wilson, 32, of Columbus was placed under arrest and charged with possession of cocaine and felony eluding.

Wilson was transported to the Lowndes County Detention Center where he was booked.

 

On Thursday December 14th Johnathan Dubuque, 26, of Columbus was arrested at the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department for a warrant for possession of methamphetamine which stemmed from a case worked by the Lowndes Narcotics Task Force earlier this year.

Dubuque who is also a member of the Latin Kings gang was booked in at the Lowndes County Detention Center where he is awaiting bond.

 

On Monday December 11th Agents with the Lowndes County Narcotics Task Force and Officers with the Columbus Police Department made contact with Damian Latham on 23 Avenue North in Columbus.

While talking with Latham, who was a passenger in a vehicle, agents saw a glass jar containing marijuana in the floorboard.

Latham was asked to exit the vehicle and was placed in custody.

The jar was found to contain more than one ounce of marijuana.

After being searched a 9mm pistol was found in Latham’s jacket pocket.

Damian Jermaine Latham, 21, of Columbus was charged with possession of marijuana in the amount of more than one ounce with the enhancement of carrying a firearm.

Latham was transported to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center where he was booked.

 

On Monday December 11th agents with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Task Force conducted a traffic stop at the off ramp from Highway 82 West and 18 Avenue in Columbus.

After a brief investigation a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of ice methamphetamine which the driver, Mark McCorkle, had hidden in his boot.

Mark McCorkle, 37, of Columbus was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and violation of probation.

McCorkle was transported to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center where he was booked.
