More than 50 children bring “Alice In Wonderland” to life on the stage

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – One of the most popular children’s books comes to life this weekend as part of a stage production in Tupelo.

The Pied Piper Players production of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” features more than 50 children in the cast.

It is a large production, full of colorful props, costumes and many other attractions that may be familiar to some, along with a few surprises.

“I like making tons of friends and stuff, and who like doing the same thing as me on stage, and I just like acting,” said Mary Chapel Whitehead, who plays “Alice.”

“Every stage production is a little bit different, and this is another version, it’s really fun, we have new characters that the audience has probably never seen before,” said Co Director Victoria Fox.

“Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It takes place 7 pm Friday and Saturday, and 2 pm Sunday at Church Street School in Tupelo.

Tickets are $7 for adults, and $5 for students. There is also a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party with the cast Sunday after the 2 pm show, cost for that is $10.
