A Wet Week Ahead
SATURDAY NIGHT: Look for increasing clouds and temperatures falling to near 40 overnight. Scattered showers start to move in from the west after midnight. The best chance to see rain will be along I-55 and west of Highway 9.
SUNDAY: Sunday will likely be a pretty wet day. Most everyone should see between a half and one inch of rain. Areas to the south have a better chance at seeing higher rain totals. Temperatures will once again remain in the upper 50s.
MONDAY: We’ll keep some showers in our area particularly for those south of US-82 towards Jackson and Meridian, but we should mix some sunshine in during the day. Look for highs in the mid 60s.
TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY: We expect showers to kick in yet again as another coastal low pressure system slides to our south. It could also bring some heavier rainfall as it carries into Wednesday. Look for highs in the low 60s.
THURSDAY: Thursday may shape up to be the driest day of the week, but given this volatile pattern, that could change. If we get ample sunshine, temperatures will climb into the upper 60s.
FRIDAY AND BEYOND: Friday should warm up again before we watch the cold front come in sometime Friday Afternoon into Saturday Morning. Ahead of it, we’ll be warm. Along it, look for showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms. Behind it, temperatures drop like a rock bringing back in winter air with perhaps some lingering moisture. This is part of a complex system which could bring travel impacts in time for the Christmas holiday across a large portion of the country.
