Monroe County Drug Bust

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A drug bust in Monroe County lands three people behind bars.

Last night, December 13, Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says deputies seized five vehicles, ten guns, 100 grams of methamphetamine and a large amount of money at a home on Hatley Detroit Road.

Carron Bland, Jeffrey Hathcock and Jason Hurley are all facing possession charges.

Hurley is also has a pending charge of possession within 1500 feet of a church.

Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says his department is dedicated to working to keep the county’s streets drug free.

“Here in our County anytime you can take these drugs and paraphernalia and guns off the streets at one time it takes them out of the hands of young people who might get a hold of this to start doing drugs,” says Cantrell.

Conservation officers from Wildlife Fisheries and Parks also assisted in the bust.
