Fund Established For Family Of Electric Worker Killed In Accident

BOONEVILLE, MISS. (WCBI) – A Northeast Mississippi bank has set up a fund to help the family of a utility worker killed last week as he was restoring power to homes in Prentiss County.

Jamie Guin was killed just after midnight April fourth,  after he had climbed a pole to repair a downed power line after storms blew through the area.

You may recall, Guin and his wife, Anna Kate, were expecting their first children, twin girls.  On Friday morning,  Anna Kate gave birth to Stella and Allie.  Although both were born about a month early, the twins are doing well.   Anna Kate was also able to attend her husband’s funeral, riding in the bucket truck from the funeral home to the cemetery her husband normally drove.

Ronny Rowland, of the Prentiss County Electric Power Association also says a fund has been set up for Anna kate and their daughters.   Anyone who would like to help can contribute to the “Jamie Guin Memorial Fund”  PO Box 275 Booneville, MS  38829.  That fund is set up through the Farmers and Merchants Bank, where Anna Kate works.

Rowland encourages people to pray for Jamie’s family and his 31 co workers at Prentiss County Electric Power Association.
