Patty Tucker Retires From Red Cross
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -The longtime executive director of Tupelo’s American Red Cross office is retiring after 15 years on the job.
A reception honoring Patty Tucker was held this afternoon in Tupelo. Tucker has been executive director of the local office for 15 years, after she retired as office manager for MDOT.
She has helped countless individuals and families, facing tragedies such as fires, natural disasters and other emergencies.
Tucker has also taken part in several relief trips for hurricanes and other natural disasters.
Tucker says she will miss interacting with those who need help.
“It’s always been such an important part of this journey, being there for families when they need it most, when that family has had that disaster, such as a house fire, or tornado and they need that immediate assistance, the Red Cross has always been there on the front line to help those families and of course I’m going to miss that,” Tucker said.
Tucker says she plans to spend more time with her family. A search is underway for the next executive director of the North Mississippi chapter of the American Red Cross.
