Breaking: More Than A Dozen MUW Students Sick After Reported Gas Leak

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Early Tuesday morning, there were reports of a possible gas leak on the Mississippi University for Women campus.

At about 5 a.m., a maintenance man reported a strong smell of gas in Kincannon Hall.

Emergency crews responded to the scene immediately.

Over 14 students are in the hospital, but there are no major injuries.

The facility was declared safe for students to move back in at around 7:30 this morning.

This is not a confirmed gas leak. The incident is still under investigation.
