Choctaw County’s Kirkwood, Maxwell Sign To Continue Hoops Careers

ACKERMAN, Miss. (WCBI) — Talented Choctaw County basketball pair Brysa Maxwell and Akeem Kirkwood signed to continue their basketball careers, Thursday.

Maxwell signs with Holmes Community College, and Kirkwood will head to Fulton to play for ICC.

Both were dynamic for the Chargers in 2017-2018, leading their respective teams to the state playoffs.

Kirkwood averaged 17.5 points per game, while racking up 9.1 rebounds.

Maxwell averaged 17.1 points per game, along with 7.9 rebounds per game and 3.3 steals per game.

Both stat lines appear very similar, and may be as close as the two. Maxwell and Kirkwood are cousins, and had interest in similar schools.
