Volunteers Will Meet Thanksgiving Morning To Feed Inmates, Jailers, Shut Ins And Others In Need
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Final preparations are underway for a unique Thanksgiving outreach.
For nearly 30 years, a group known as “Christians on the Move to Evangelize” has packed and delivered plate lunches on Thanksgiving Day to area jails, shut ins, ICU and ER waiting rooms.
The effort involves churches from a variety of denominations who gather for a time of prayer, and ministry each Thanksgiving Day.
“I think one of the best ways to give thanks to Jesus Thanksgiving is to go out and make somebody else’s day better. I believe if Jesus were here He would be out feeding people, healing people and making somebody else’s life better, on Thanksgiving, so I think it’s one of the most rewarding things to celebrate Thanksgiving is to make somebody’s life better,” said Pastor Clarence Parks, of Temple of Compassion And Deliverance in Tupelo.
Volunteers can meet at Harrisburg Baptist Church in Tupelo at 8 Thanksgiving morning to help out. If you need more information, or know someone who needs a meal Thanksgiving, call 662-346-9227, 844-0843 or 842-5119.
