MBI & Lowndes County SO Investigating Death Of Inmate

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- An inmate who allegedly committed suicide in the Lowndes County Jail has been identified.

According to coroner Greg Merchant, the victim is 46 year-old Charles Jeffrey Allen, of Louisville.

Emergency responders were called out to the jail just after five o’clock Monday night, November 20.

The investigation is being handled by MBI, while the body has been sent to the state medical examiners office for autopsy.
