Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Annual Equipment Inspection

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – To make sure the job is getting done the Lowndes County Sheriff’s department is checking the hardware.

As part of their annual inspection guidelines, Sheriff Mike Arledge lined up all deputies and personally visited each vehicle to inspect it’s condition.

The deputies are required to maintain county issued equipment; guns, vests, and documents of mileage on the vehicles.

The Sheriff checked the functions of the emergency lights, and vehicle inventory during the inspection.

After the inspection the deputies met for a general assembly to review proper procedures, department protocol, and to ask department administration any questions they have.

Sheriff Arledge says though the inspections are only required annually the department performs them a few times a year.
