Autism Center Of North Mississippi Gears Up For Busy April
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – April will be a busy month for the Autism Center of North Mississippi as its team members, clients and supporters encourage people to “Go Blue.”
April is “Autism Awareness Month” and the autism center is taking part in a campaign called “Go Blue Mississippi.”
People are asked to challenge friends, co workers and others on social media, purchase special t-shirts and wear blue in support of autism awareness month.
“A lot of businesses are getting creative and that’s what we love, Bancorpsouth for instance has sold hundreds of these t-shirts and they’re also encouraging their employees to wear blue jeans and donate $5 and all those proceeds will come to autism center of north Mississippi,” said Brittany Cuevas, executive director of the Autism Center of North Mississippi.
Next Monday, Tupelo Parks and Rec will hold a hamburger cook out as a fundraiser for the autism center at Fairpark, and A 5k benefiting the center is planned April 7th at Ballard Park.
