Bond Set for Verona Man Accused of Shooting

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Bond has been set for a man accused of a shooting that took place, after a concert Friday night, October 27. The incident happened in the Bancorp South Arena parking lot.

Steven Michael Hulbert, 22, of Verona, has been charged with Aggravated Assault.

Witnesses reported hearing an argument among a group of men, and then four to six gunshots followed. A man approached a deputy saying he was shot. He was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound and later released.

Hulbert’s initial court appearance was Saturday. Judge Chuck Hopkins set bond at $100,000.

Hulbert is currently in the Lee County Adult Jail.
